Out of an abundance of caution, to limit contact with individuals and to practice ‘social distancing’, we have temporarily closed the Union Office as of Monday, March 16th. We will let the Membership know when the Union office is back in operation. In the interim, we are working remotely and remain available, assisting Members and managing dispatch availability, etc.

The Local is working in coordination with other Film Unions collaborating to find solutions to our members needs. Our goal is to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach as the situation unfolds. We will do everything we can to service our members under these extraordinarily difficult times. I will elaborate further on these initiatives and continue to assess any additional measures we may implement.

Dispatch will be operating Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 604-876-8349.

If you need emotional support or financial counselling please see the important update from FSEAP below:

FSEAP continues to provide 24/7 phone intake and counselling support, and our full range of counselling and work-life services. However as of March 17th, all face-to-face counselling sessions offered at our FSEAP offices will be rescheduled as telephone or video sessions for the next 30 days. If you are currently seeing a counselor in the community at a location other than FSEAP offices, you can contact them directly to confirm your next session, or call our Care Centre for support.

In line with this, our FSEAP facilities in Vancouver, Richmond and Whitehorse will be closed to in-person counselling, and administrative staff will be working from home. Our Account Management and Management team is working remotely with full access to phones, emails, and normal communications, and meeting daily to monitor the situation. We are anticipating these changes be in effect for the next 30 days, but will be assessing the situations on an ongoing basis.
